Giant Springs Heritage State Park is a piece of Great Falls history for you to explore. This vast fresh water spring was discovered in 1805 by the Lewis and Clark expedition. It pumps out more than 300 million gallons of water every single day. You can go to the state park to bird watch, see a little wildlife, or discover some history. You can also stop and throw out a blanket and enjoy a picnic lunch with your family. The nearby fish hatchery is also a big tourist draw, as kids just love to feed the hungry fishes!
If you have little ones with you then a must-see attraction is the Children’s Museum of Montana. This kid-friendly and hands-on museum will allow your kids to explore the many exhibits such as “build your own model city” and “generate your own electricity.” They will also make fun discoveries at the exploration station. Morning activities at the museum usually include story time or music activities. There is never a dull moment here and these exhibits are sure to be your child’s favorite part of their Great Falls vacation.
If you don’t have kids, and are looking for more grown-up fun then why not head to the beautiful 18-hole Anaconda Hills Golf course? If that does not quench your golf thirst then head over to Zahara Valley Golf club for more golfing action. From there, you can also check out the Malmstrom Air Force Base. It has lots of exhibits like uniforms, model aircrafts and even actual aircrafts such as the Shooting Star and Mitchell Bomber.
