Every Thursday, Great Falls, MT closes down the main square of the town and throws a party like you wouldn’t believe. In the tradition of all the great block parties and street festivals of the past, the town puts together some great live music and provides food and drink from local vendors. This is an excellent time to get together with your whole family and join your neighbors for good, clean fun.
The featured bands are different each week, and they all have gained some serious popularity in the past year. One of the biggest draws to Great Falls, MT will be the performance by The Red Elvises, a band with an alternative sound that has performed all over the world. You can also see The Juke Box Band, Hired Guns, Steve Keller Band, Barbed Wire, and Hound Dog Rockin’ Blues. A lot of the music will be original hits, but you can expect to hear some of your classic favorites, as well.
For the kids, there will be lots of play equipment and activities, as well as crafts that they can take home with them. Most of your time will probably be spent dancing in the square and enjoying the delicious food that local vendors provide. You can also tour some of the historic buildings in the city, and take tours of some of the art galleries in the square. Different buildings and businesses are featured each week, so you will always see something a little different when you go.
Live @ 5 is only possible with the help from sponsors and your support. Make it a part of your summer schedule to attend the Thursday Live @ 5 celebrations, and show your hometown pride and spirit. The magic of yesteryear can find new life. |
